mirrors-edge-timbuk2-bag

EA is offering two expensive bundles for some of their most promising upcoming games – Mirror’s Edge (which is predicted to bag EA 3 million sales) and Dead Space.

Starting with Mirror’s Edge, $130 will get you the Xbox 360 game (which is $60 on its own), and a Mirror’s Edge-themed Timbuk2 messenger bag, complete with Faith’s (the main character) face on the inside flap. I imagine that you could either see that as a positive or a negative…

Now for Dead Space, with its bundle ringing in at $150, and getting you:

  • The Dead Space game
  • Special Ultra Limited Edition (their term) packaging
  • Dead Space Downfall Animated Movie (DVD)
  • Bonus content DVD
  • Exclusive lithograph art
  • 97-pg Dead Space art book written and illustrated by the development team
  • 160-pg Graphic novel
  • Ishimura crew patch

Neither of these really seem reasonable to me, though the Dead Space one is a bit more realistic in terms of the amount of content. I bought the Halo 3 Legendary Edition (the one with the helmet) and thought it was worth it (it actually seems to be a pretty decent conversation piece, as nerdy as it is), but I just can’t see myself carrying around that bag. If Dead Space lives up to the hype, though, the SPECIAL ULTRA LIMITED EDITION (seriously, what?) will probably sell for quite a bit on eBay.

  1. Murray Said,

The bag looks nice, but I wouldn’t buy it for $70. o_0

    Canadian or American, btw?

  2. Catherine Said,

Why would the bag for a game by a Swedish company bought out by an American company look so Canadian?

  3. Murray Said,

Cause the game’s logo is red and white? xD

  4. Alan Said,

Murray, I’d imagine it’s American as the sites I get info from are usually American. These days that’s not too different from Canadian, but for good measure, add $10 to the base price for games (to put them to $70) and maybe $10-20 for the whole bundle. Unless game prices have changed lately. I don’t know if we get closer to American prices now.
