Mentioned a few days ago that I had added some RSS feeds to the sidebar, but I’ve now worked out the kinks and we have a script to randomize feeds.

A blog roll (a list of links to other blogs) is one way for website owners to share traffic, but is generally pretty bland and easily ignored. RSS feeds, on the other hand, immediately show a viewer on one website what posts are being made on other websites, meaning users are more likely to click through from one site to another. I have had a fair amount of success with feed exchanges so far, with a good portion of my traffic being driven here from feed partners. I’m looking to expand my feed exchange network, however.

This is how I hope this will work:

Your feed will be placed in a rotation on the sidebar, and be selected randomly from a pool of other feed partners. The sidebar is visible on every page, meaning that, when randomly selected, your feed will also be visible on every page.

Feeds on this site will be displayed above the fold (visible without scrolling, though at 1920×1200, a LOT appears above the fold), with a good number of your posts showing.

In exchange, we ask you to do the same, placing a Tecurious feed above the fold and with a reasonable number of items. In terms of eligibility, your site must be established, actively updated, or have a respectable amount of content. Of course, we would like to stay away from low quality sites, so we will look at your content before exchanging feeds. Note that you don’t have to be a blog or news site for this feed exchange – you may (for example) want to submit a feed for galleries, threads, individual categories on your site, or even just select content.
